The Community Carpentry Project is meant to empower folks and to build each other up through resources, knowledge,  accessibility and mutual aid.

This is a 3 part project.

1.) Tool share program. Bringing access to the tools one would need without having to spend a fortune.

2.) Homeowner 101 classes. Plumbing 101, Roof Repair, How to Use Tools Safely, Weatherization, etc. We will also be tailoring classes for our community partners’ neighborhoods. A need in Cooper/Young, for example, could be rotten siding compared to a roof repair in Orange Mound. We will bring a class to each neighborhood tailored to the needs of the community and/or group.

3.) Volunteer Network. The final piece will be building up teams of volunteers to go in and repair low-income and elderly folks‘ pressing needs…for free! We have far too many people living without basic necessities only requiring semi-minor fixes.

*Repairs are limited to Cooper/Young and Orange Mound at this time.

**Tool share program and classes will be open to participants from all areas.

Grateful for the community showing up to our first tool drive. We are always accepting tools. Email us to arrange drop off or pickup!
